COVID-19 Info - Hamptons ITM

Due to the uncertainty around the Delta variant, the Government have created a more restrictive version of Level 2 they are calling “Delta Level 2”. Updates to the original Level 2 settings for a retail environment are:

  • Orders: Contact Hamptons ITM or your Account Manager to understand how we will be processing your orders. While our showroom will be open to drop-in customers, to minimise time spent in store we encourage you to place orders before arriving using this form.
  • Mandatory Face Coverings: All customers and staff are required to wear an appropriate face covering while at Hamptons ITM.
  • Mandatory Contact Tracing: Hamptons ITM will provide a unique COVID-19 Tracer App QR Code and manual contact tracing register. We ask that all customers “sign in” using one of these methods upon arrival.
  • Physical Distancing of 2m between customers: All customers must maintain a physical distance of 2m from all staff and other customers.
  • Showrooms: Hamptons ITM’s showroom will be open to all customers with physical distancing of 2m enforced. This will mean limiting the number of customers allowed in the showroom at one time.
  • Site Visits: Our Account Managers will still be able to visit your sites. As always, they will be respectful of the rules on your site, so please make them aware of these prior to their arrival.

The construction market has been experiencing unprecedented demand in the post-2020 Covid environment and this, together with the most recent outbreak of Covid, domestic supply capacity constraints, and global shipping and supply issues, are having a significant effect on the continuous supply of materials to all building merchants, including Hamptons ITM.

The industry has welcomed the move to Level 3 for areas outside of Auckland so that builders can get back to their construction sites. Unfortunately, the predominance of building materials being manufactured or distributed in the Auckland region means that re-stocking of ITM stores throughout the rest of the country is going to be compromised while Auckland remains in Level 4.

While Hamptons ITM was reasonably well stocked leading into the lockdown, those stocks will quickly be consumed if we can’t get replacement product delivered. Our supplier partners have been working hard to get dispensation from MBIE to operate safely in Level 4 – to no avail.

In the interim we remain committed to supporting our customers with their building materials, but we acknowledge that the limited supply of some products – particularly those building products manufactured in Auckland – is impacting on our ability to meet all their requirements within the requested lead times.

Remember, if you’re feeling unwell or showing new or worsened symptoms, please don’t come into store, stay home and consult your GP or Healthline on 0800 3585453. Symptoms include:

  • Fever
  • Cough
  • Shortness of breath
  • Sneezing or a runny nose

Rest assured that we are working to ensure safe working environments for both staff and customers of Hamptons ITM.

Stay safe, we look forward to seeing you (at a safe distance) soon.

Take care out there…

Best wishes,

The Team at Hamptons ITM
