Welcome to the March edition of Hamptons Happenings. It has been a massive few weeks for Christchurch, and the team at Hamptons ITM has been proud to support the events that keep our city humming.

From supplying the timber and hardware needed to build a festival city in Hagley Park to gearing up for the historic arrival of the Supercars at Ruapuna, there is plenty of excitement in the air. We are also focusing on the practical side of things, making sure you have the right adhesives and advice to keep your projects on track as the seasons change.

Fans can expect three days of high-octane racing, driver appearances, fan zones, and family-friendly viewing, with kids 12 and under receiving free General Admission with a paying adult. This is set to be one of the biggest sporting moments of 2026 in Canterbury, and we are stoked to see Christchurch host such a major event for the very first time.

Hamptons ITM is proud to support the network behind the ITM Christchurch Super 440, bringing top-tier motorsport to the South Island. Some of the team will be mixing in with the race-day crowd, so feel free to say hi if you recognise one of us out in the wild!

Electric Avenue: A Big Win for Christchurch — and for Hamptons ITM

Electric Avenue took place on 27 & 28 February 2026 in Hagley Park, continuing its run as Christchurch’s biggest home-grown festival and one of the city’s strongest economic drivers.

With the festival site stretching across an area equal to 20 football fields and hosting 60+ acts across multiple stages, the 2026 build was again a major logistical project requiring extensive temporary infrastructure. This included staging materials, platforms, fencing, timber structures, vendor setups, ground-protection systems, and a long list of back-of-house requirements.

Hamptons ITM is proud to have directly supported that effort again in 2026. We supplied materials to several subcontractors involved in constructing, reinforcing, and maintaining festival infrastructure, ranging from timber and ply through to hardware, fixings, and site-setup essentials. The teams on the ground rely on a steady, reliable supply to meet tight deadlines, and we are pleased to continue playing a hands-on role in enabling one of Christchurch’s marquee events.

As Christchurch grows its reputation as New Zealand’s events capital, Electric Avenue remains a highlight of the calendar. Hamptons ITM was right there in the mix, supporting the builders and the subcontractors while attending the event as we helped bring another major festival to life for Ōtautahi.
