Some of you may already know, but in the coming weeks we‘re very excited to be joined by a fresh and brand new, although highly experienced (20 + years across building, roofing and building supplies) Account Manager. We have already contacted everyone directly involved. Once he’s had a chance to get his feet under the desk, we’ll give you all a much fuller introduction in the next Hamptons Happenings. As they often say, “watch this space…”
20 Years and Counting…
Last year we celebrated several staff members achieving the 10-year mark at Hamptons, but all of them have been out-done by Tracy Blair who recently celebrated 20 years at Hamptons ITM.
20 years is a good chunk of one’s life, and we all sincerely appreciate the dedication, commitment and uncommon sense Tracy has provided over the years.
Tracy has given plenty to Hamptons, but she has also picked up a few perks along the way… Over the years, Tracy has earned everyone’s unwavering respect and affection with her practical and no-nonsense approach. Congratulations from us all Tracy, well done on quite an achievement.
Did you Miss Us (… On TV)?
Last year, ITM released a new commercial, which you have no doubt seen over recent months. It contains some of the wisest ITM heads, as well as some more familiar faces which you may recognise. Check out the video below and see how many of the particularly handsome Hampton’s crew you can spot.
We have a hot deal on the Makita rail saw XGT this month. Come and see us in-store to check it out.
We’ve been seeing a lot of the ITM Fishing Show classics over the break, especially Matt’s adventure down south and in Fiordland. A beautiful part of the country, and a great spot to visit if you get the chance. The most enjoyable aspect was seeing some of the crayfish Matt was able to get his hands on, the size and quantity was extraordinary. With that in mind, we’ve dug back into the archives and found Matt’s recipe for Popcorn Crayfish. Although we haven’t tried it yet, it will definitely be on the menu next time we come across some crays ourselves.
Everyone is an expert at Hamptons ITM – and not just when it comes to building products!
Each month one of our staff will offer up a top 5 from one of their specialist subjects outside of the building industry.
Rowan – building specialist, hardware specialist, power tool specialist, and, unknown to most, WWE Wrestling Specialist and Uberfan. This month Rowan gives us the low down on who he considers to be the top 5 wrestlers of all time.
Wrestling is entertainment, pure and simple, and no one was more entertaining than the Rock in his prime. His in-ring performance may not have been as memorable as others, but on the microphone he was devastating and all his matches offered a lot of entertainment value.
Randy is a classic badass. When it comes to being a heel he is one of the best and he always delivers a surprise, usually with his RKO move from out of nowhere!
Big, bad, and scary, the Undertaker never once disappointed during his storied career. His look and style were memorable and who can ever forget the ending of his 21-bout winning streak at Wrestlemania. 21-1, he’ll never be forgotten.Agree or disagree with Rowan’s Top 5 choices? Although small, Alexa punches above her weight and has become one of the best women wrestlers on the roster. Always good to watch, hopefully she’ll be in the top spot soon.
Technically a group rather than an individual wrestler, DX changed the wrestling landscape during the 90’s. The original badboys, they kick started the fondly remembered Attitude era of the 1990’s.
