In this item, we showcase some of Hamptons’ building customers’ work. Hamptons is very fortunate to count some of Christchurch and Canterbury’s very finest builders as customers and we are just delighted to be able to tip our hat to them and show you some of their amazing work!

Most people are aware that Hamptons has an extensive range of building supply and joinery products…
But not everyone is aware that Hamptons offers a full estimating and quoting service to builders, contractors, construction businesses, developers, and architects.
Hamptons can measure all major elements and components and provide an all-inclusive current market estimate. This service can be utilised for small building projects, right through to multi-million dollar commercial developments. It also provides us at Hamptons with a pretty good barometer on the market and how things are tracking.
With this in mind, you may be interested to know that on volume from the 1st of February 2020 to now, our estimating statistics are showing that versus the same period last year we sit considerably higher on volume and total value has also increased.
Throughout lockdown a great number of jokes, funny photos and videos circulated the country. We’re sure this sharing of light relief and laughter helped to keep people positive. We’ve kept a few of our favourites and thought we’d share them via Hamptons Happenings over the coming months.
This month we feature a video showing the joys of running a hardware store.
Here is Rowan showcasing the latest 40v offering from Makita and providing some encouragement to be ahead of the pack and place your pre-order during the month of August.
Over the coming weeks Hamptons will be hosting a number of special guests in our Ferry Road store. Next week kicks off with Chris McIvor from Bostik.
Chris will be instore to answer any questions you may have about the Bostik range of fillers, adhesives, primers, grouts and sealants.
Feel free to pop in and Rowan will organise a complimentary coffee for the person who comes prepared with the toughest technical question.
Over the coming weeks we have an exciting line up of special guests who will be making an appearance at Hamptons… so watch this space.
We’d like to officially welcome Lisa Lamb aboard. Faced with the current turbulent times and rough seas, one of Hamptons competitors unfortunately decided to sink one of their ships.
Fortunately for Lisa and also Hamptons – the time was right for Lisa to come aboard and join us here at Hamptons ITM. After travelling the seven seas and accumulating many years of experience in the building supply industry we are very pleased to have Lisa as part of our crew.
Knowledgeable and with a quick wit and a great smile and laugh, she is fitting in well. Come on in and say Hi, or as Lisa would say “Yo ho ho and a bottle of wine!”
Meanwhile, Andrew Blackler in our quotes department has been in full pirate mode – cultivating his very own Blackbeard look.
Things started during lockdown and we are now taking bets on how long he can keep it going. Despite his mother’s disapproval, he is adamant this look is here to stay. How will this saga end? Will he crack and shave it off, or will he make it to that mythical foot long mark, powered on by his daily milo intake? Please don’t tell young Andrew, but our money is on Mrs. Blackler!
