Those of you that have called us recently may have heard a familiar voice answering the phones – one Wendy Fleming, co-owner of Hamptons ITM, and illustrious wife of David Fleming. Over the last three weeks, Wendy has been helping out and covering the reception desk and she has done a splendid job getting us through these tough times.
Wendy made a few interesting observations – she said customers would ring up and she didn’t always have the answer that they wanted… but at no point were there ever cross words spoken or terse comments made and everything was always done in good humour. Don’t worry, we have let Wendy know that this is normal and just one small indication of the very high calibre and quality of Hamptons customers… Wendy also commented on how good it’s been to observe the wider Hamptons team hard at work, and see just how many moving parts there are within the whole Hamptons operation.
Thanks for lending a hand Wendy, your efforts and help were really appreciated! It’s been great – and now we truly appreciate the saying “Behind every great man is an amazing woman!”

Welcome to the team – Max and Courtney!
The All Blacks excel in blooding new players to keep the team constantly evolving to stay on top, and at Hamptons, we strive to do the same. So, with that in mind, we would like to introduce two debutants to the team, Max (yardman extraordinaire) and Courtney (reception wizard).
Max joins us from a landscaping background and a stint in Auckland (which he assures us isn’t so bad) where he followed his heart and girlfriend. Max has a reputation for collecting old pushbikes, and it was actually through biking that he met his partner. However, the other love of his life is his 1977 Mk2 Escort Estate, and looking at the pictures he has shown us, we can see why – it is a beautiful machine.
Next off the bench is Courtney. Courtney is a ring-in (from Australia no-less) and prior to joining Hamptons, she worked as a flight attendant before a stint in the hospitality industry (we hear she makes a mean cup of coffee). Although having lived in Christchurch for three years, she still has connections in Brisbane, so feel free to ask if she knows your cousin that lives there. (Everyone has a cousin in Brisbane!)
Please welcome both Max and Courtney next time you speak with them, they are already a strong part of the team. We promise not to make them sit at the front of the bus… and we look forward to working with them over the coming years.

With the latest Batman movie showing in the movies, we thought we should ask our resident Batman expert, Jamie Hawke, which actors he considers to be the best at playing the Batman.
The Batman movie of 1989 was a blockbuster with Michael Keaton giving the role plenty of gravitas while retaining the sense of fun from the 1960s TV Batman. He ushered Batman into a new era and was equally as good in the follow-up Batman Returns.
A much darker Batman, Christian Bale is best remembered for and often mocked, his gravelly voice. But he did bring the darkness back to the Batman films.
Jamie is always ready for a good Batman conversation, so be sure to give him your opinion on who was the best Batman of all time next time you see him.
