- Goodie bags
- Spot Prizes
- Major Price
- Six LBP points in a single day
After seven years of ITM LBP days, we are all familiar with what’s on offer and the relevant knowledge imparted by the industry experts on site.
This year it will be held at Addington Raceway on Thursday, 5th September (we’ll wait while you enter that in your calendars). The event will run from 8 am until 3.30 pm, which sounds like a lot of learning, but it is broken up by a free lunch & smoko – and we all know a free lunch doesn’t come along every day!
Register now by clicking the picture below, and secure your spot to pick up a sweet six points.

With a grey and oppressive winter upon us, Key Account Manager Jamie Hawke saw July as the perfect opportunity to escape to the warmer climes of the Japanese summer. And when we say warmer, we mean much warmer, with the daily temperature exceeding 30 degrees every day, while the warmest day Jamie suffered through enjoyed was 37 degrees. It sounds nice on paper, and Jamie tells us that the aircon and cold beers have never been so welcome. Apparently, a holiday beer tastes even better when you’ve just sweated your own body weight.
Jamie enjoyed a good mix of theme parks, tradition, and the modern cities of Japan across the two weeks, with his personal highlights being a day at Disneyland riding thirteen attractions, the Kyoto bamboo forest, and the city of Hiroshima.

For those that don’t know, Jamie is a keen collector of Batman toys, and he found time to indulge in this passion while he was away, with an antique toy shop just happening to be right next door to the hotel where he was staying. Good luck or good planning, we can’t say, but Jamie picked up several pieces in beautiful condition and made sure to visit the local antique toy shops wherever he went after.
Jamie finished his trip with a drive through the mountains in a Nissan Skyline GTR which is entirely appropriate for a car man such as Jamie. Although the weather was misty on the day, he enjoyed his mountain drive as he put an exclamation point on his holiday experience.

Jamie is now back at work and suffering the cold weather with us, and the heat of the Japanese summer is now just a memory. Welcome back, Jamie-san!

Who is that masked man?
We cannot reveal his true identity, but what we can tell you is that if you come to the trade counter, he will give you a great deal on the Spartan 2-in-1 Safety Goggles and Visor Set. Not only does this set give you a serious Darth Vader vibe, but it also gives you full face protection while providing crystal clear distortion-free vision.
We have also sold quite a few visors for customers who think these are ideal for dirt biking and other activities outside of work.
As a special price, we are doing these for $35 – and that’s INCLUDING GST!
The price will make the boss weep, but a quality product at a bargain price is just too good to ignore. Come in and see our own masked avengers at the trade counter, and they will ensure that you walk away with one of these under your arm and a smile on your face.

-Brace yourself, it’s a long one, but trust us, it’s worth it…
A duck walks into a pub and orders a pint of beer and a ham sandwich.
The barman looks at him and says, “Hang on! You’re a duck.”
“I see your eyes are working,” replies the duck.
“And you can talk!!” exclaims the barman.
“I see your ears are working, too,” says the duck. “Now if you don’t mind, can I have my beer and my sandwich, please?”
“Certainly, sorry about that,” says the barman as he pulls the duck’s pint. “It’s just we don’t get many ducks in this pub. What are you doing around this way?”
“I’m working on the building site across the road,” explains the duck. “I’m a plasterer.”
The flabbergasted barman cannot believe the duck and wants to learn more but takes the hint when the duck pulls out a newspaper from his bag and proceeds to read it.
So, the duck reads his paper, drinks his beer, eats his sandwich, bids the barman good day, and leaves.
The same thing happens for two weeks.
Then one day the circus comes to town. The ringmaster comes into the pub for a pint and the barman says to him, “You’re with the circus, aren’t you? Well, I know this duck that could be just brilliant in your circus. He talks, drinks beer, eats sandwiches, reads the newspaper, and everything!”
“Sounds marvelous,” says the ringmaster, handing over his business card. “Get him to give me a call.”
So the next day, when the duck comes into the pub, the barman says, “Hey Mr. Duck, I reckon I can line you up with a top job, paying really good money.”
“I’m always looking for the next job,” says the duck. “Where is it?”
“At the circus,” says the barman.
“The circus?” repeats the duck.
“That’s right,” replies the barman.
“The circus?” the duck asks again. “With the big tent?”
“Yeah,” the barman replies.
“With all the animals who live in cages, and performers who live in caravans?” says the duck.
“Of course,” the barman replies.
“And the tent has canvas sides and a big canvas roof with a hole in the middle?” persists the duck.
“That’s right!” says the barman.
The duck shakes his head in amazement and says, “What the hell would they want with a plasterer?”

10 insightful, but random, questions to help you get to know our team better.
Glenn Oates has been with Hamptons for 13 years, just not all of them consecutively! In that time he has become well known with our customer base, but this month we thought we’d dig a little deeper and find what else lies behind that cheeky grin and cheerful laugh. We took no risks, and some of the questions weren’t as random as usual, but we learned a little more about one of our most experienced account managers.
1. How many years have you worked in the industry?
Since 1996, too many to work out on my fingers, but I guess it would be twenty-eight years now.
2. Ford or Holden?
Ford – of course! I have a Ford Fairmont AU3 Pickford at the moment. I have owned a variety of XR6s, I have had a couple of Fairmonts, and my very first Ford was an MK3 Capri when I lived in the UK. I had a midlife crisis a while ago and I had two WRXs as well.
3. Must watch TV show?
We are quite liking Criminal Minds at the moment on Disney Plus. And car shows, obviously!
4. What are the essentials you need for a Sunday roast?
Essential are the Yorkshire Puds (Of course, being a Yorkshire man myself), Beef, carrots, potatoes, and peas. And Brussel Spouts.
5. What’s the fastest you’ve ever been in a car?
Off the record ….(do not let my wife know!) 220 kmph in one of the WRXs. My two toddlers never woke up…(just kidding, Anna!).
6. What advice would you give your younger self?
Save money.
7. What would your theme song be?
Another one bites the dust (it was my wedding song) :-O
8. Do you know the way to San Jose?
No, but the Navman does.
9. Any regrets?
That I didn’t meet my wife earlier in my life.
10. What is the best dish at Denny’s?
Lumberjack Slam. Especially with my workmates on Saturday mornings before work.

If you want to talk to Glenn more about his passion for cars or give him some stick about the performance of any number of English sports teams, you can call him on 0275 322 330 or email him at glenn@hamptons.co.nz. Just be careful though, he’ll probably sell you something without you even knowing!
Best wishes,
David & Wendy, Don, Carolyn and the rest of the team at Hamptons ITM
