Welcome to the December edition of Hamptons Happenings.
In this issue we:
Over the past month, it has been hard to miss the many and varied hairy top-lips being sported around the traps…
During the month of November each year it is great to see the mighty moustache making a come-back for such a great cause. It is also good to see the many moustache growers and their sponsors around the world… working together to help raise money for Men’s Health.
Movember was originally started by a couple of Aussie blokes in Melbourne back in 2003 and since those first humble beginnings, over 5,500,000 people around the world have taken part.
Movember specifically targets prostate cancer, testicular cancer, mental health and suicide prevention and their ultimate goal is to reduce the number of men dying prematurely by 25%, by 2030. As many of us know only too well, there have many men involved in our industry who have been sadly lost due to one of these causes. In particular and very sadly there have been over 300 men in our industry who have taken their own life in the past decade.
Over the years, Movember has funded more than 1,250 men’s health projects around the world to tackle these issues head on and challenge the status quo and shake up men’s health research and transform the way health services reach and support men.
Since the first Movember back in 2003 – over $1.2 billion dollars has been raised toward Men’s Health… Yes, that’s right $1,200,000,000! Pretty impressive.
What a great effort, and to everyone out there who has taken part or sponsored someone taking part in Movember – we salute you.
In our last issue of Hamptons Happenings, we showcased a very clever timber pile and post support available here at Hamptons!
This month, we explore the ultimate in design – the SPYNDI… a unique set of 61 handcrafted wooden pieces that can be easily assembled into unlimited variations of lounge or living space furniture. SPYNDI is a human spine inspired innovation.
Unlike any other furniture, SPYNDI transforms into different shapes or whatever structures you have in mind. There is an infinity of combinations you can come up with to create your very own chair or unique piece of furniture…

As we draw another eventful and exciting year at Hamptons ITM to a close… it is important to take some time to carefully consider one’s current situation and also reflect on the past.
November 2019 marked the 25th anniversary of David and Wendy Fleming’s ownership and involvement with Hamptons ITM… With this in mind, here is a flashback into our past – take some time to contemplate and speculate what year these snaps were taken and see how many of these faces you can recognise…
Christmas and New Year Opening Hours…
This year, Hamptons will be wrapping things up for the year on the 23rd December at 2.00pm.
We will be reopening on the 6th January, 2020 and operating from 7.30am – 5.00pm, then back to our normal hours 7.00am – 5.00pm from the 13th January, 2020.
And finally, from all of us here at Hamptons ITM, we’d like to take this opportunity to say thank you so much for being a part of our lives and business… As you know, we’re a people business that has the good fortune to be able to do business with some absolutely fantastic people, who we respect and admire, and we all feel very honoured to work alongside and support.
Many of you have been dealing with us for decades and because of that we truly value your loyalty, support and friendship. Our relationship is one where a handshake means a deal is a deal! and a man or woman’s word is… well, their word… and equally, if we say “we’ll see you right…” – we will, see you right! That’s just how things work… Sadly, this sort of thing is all too rare in this day and age.
As the year draws to a close… we will be looking forward to re-engaging and working with you again in 2020. Until then, good luck and best wishes for the next few weeks of madness, stay safe and we sincerely hope you enjoy some well-deserved time to recharge and refresh with family and friends…
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year,
David & Wendy, Don, Carolyn and the rest of the team at Hamptons ITM
