Welcome back and as they say, “New Year, New Beginnings!” We hope that everyone had a nice break over the summer holidays, Christmas presents were opened, food was eaten, maybe a sly beverage, tents up, and fishing gear out. Now it is back to the real world and earning some money to pay for it all.
We’ve already seen a good selection of familiar faces back in the store and we look forward to catching up with many more of you over the coming weeks and hearing about your summer adventures as we crank back into work mode. Our staff are well-rested, bright-eyed and bushy-tailed, and ready for whatever 2023 throws at us.
Congratulations to the winners of our Christmas prize draw. Ryan from Beachbay won the portable fridge from Toolware, packed with treats and goodies, while Paul from Somerfield Upholstery snagged himself a handy backpack with a Hunting and Fishing voucher kindly donated by Mitek. In the third draw, Geoff from Tinylife won himself a nice-looking bit set courtesy of Milwaukee.
Thanks to everyone who took part in the draw, we had hundreds of entries, and once again congratulations to our three winners.
Great news for those who are working with Linea this year – we have a fantastic supply sitting in the store and are all ready to go. There had previously been supply problems with this, but the supply chain is running at full capacity again and we are only too happy to deliver whatever you need when you need it.
For those jobs that have 150mm and 180mm specified, speak to your account manager today, or just call directly to customer services – we’ll see you right!
It’s that time of year again when the New Zealand sun is at its fiercest and being sunsmart is at the forefront of our minds. There’s no need to reiterate the slip, slop, slap mantra we all grew up with, but we would just to remind you that we do carry a range of sunsmart products in store. We carry sunblock in a one-litre container, and also a convenient 125ml tube.
Sunsmart NZ recommends applying sunscreen 20 minutes before going outside and reapplying every two hours, so we recommend carrying some in your truck at all times. In addition to this, we also carry a range of sunglasses that are site safe, killing two birds with one stone. Not only are you safe from the sun, but you can look pretty cool at the same time. Just ask for Mel or Dene when you come in – they’ll point you in the right direction.

“And then what?! Couldn’t you catch it?!”
“As a matter of fact, I did catch it. But then it suddenly hit me… we have 3 “Johns” working on site on a Wednesday…”

You may know Karl Mead as a mild-mannered account manager, but Karl actually has a secret life as a collector of retro video games. Gameboy makes up 90% of his collection – Karl has more than his wife knows about, and plays them all. This month, we’ve asked Karl to have a rummage through his back room and provide us with his guide to his top 5 Gameboy games.
