Greetings and a very warm welcome to our July 2021 edition of Hamptons Happenings…
In this issue we:
Over the past few months, we have had the opportunity to work with and plan much further ahead with many of our customers. This has been out of necessity, and we’re pleased to say that so far, in virtually all situations (touch wood – pardon the pun) we’ve been able to ‘see our customers right’ and ensure that the right product arrived at the right time. We’ve been able to very clearly see the benefits of much better planning, and this certainly got us thinking a bit about what else we could be doing better. With this in mind, we engaged an independent organisation to survey a cross section of our customer base.
It was a nervous time wondering what the results would show… Below is a snapshot of how the various areas at Hamptons did (out of 5) in the survey.
Given the many challenges we currently face with maintaining our supply channels and stock levels on this side of the fence, we’re pretty happy to have achieved a 90% overall customer satisfaction rating.
In addition to the numbers… here are some of the many comments we picked up:
“I enjoy how they have a laugh. Very obliging, like a family business. You feel like they are working for you.”
“The ability to know who to deal with… is one thing I appreciate personally. You know when you deal with one of the corporate managed suppliers it’s… harder”
“Andrew is good and efficient. Works fast. No issues with pricing and speed etc”
“Absolutely think they are as good you can possibly get! Brilliant”
“The main reason why I changed from dealing with a different company was the service that Craig provides.”
“Hamish is fantastic. If he says to you, ‘I will find out and phone back in 5 minutes’ he phones back in 5 minutes”.
A huge and sincere congratulations and thanks to our team and also a big thank you to all our customers who took the time to participate in our recent survey. We certainly identified a few valuable things we can improve on and we will look to implement some of the ideas we picked up over the coming months.
Our Figures Man is also full of Facts…
Andrew Blackler, Hamptons Estimating Co-ordinator, is certainly the man when it comes to quantities and figures… but as we all continue to learn and repeatedly discover… he is also an endless source of fun facts.
Throughout the day he peppers us with “Did you know…” and then provides a fun fact. Here is a small selection of some of the many facts he’s most generously shared with us all over the past few months:
Last month, Jason Lamb was a bit of an internet sensation with his unique interpretation of our Hamptons Hot Deal video.
In the video below, Jason unveils the winner of the Jason Lamb “Hamptons Hot Breakfast or Lunch”, and then he announces the Hamptons Hot Deal for July.
He also gets on a bit of ITM Merch and then takes it off again… It nearly sent us back into therapy and brought back memories of his job interview when he was kind enough to share a few before and after shots of him in his undies…
A quick message from Marshall who works in Hamptons yard – Please support him if you can!

Hamptons are pleased to announce a new arrival – no, not a baby, but Dene Tunnicliffe, who is a fully-fledged addition to our customer services team.
Dene is a man who brings a wealth of experience to the role. In his short time here, Dene has revealed himself to be a man of many layers, we’ll save that for his profile another day, but in the meantime, all you need to know is that Dene is a guru when it comes to door hardware having worked in the industry all his life.
