Greetings and a very warm welcome to our June 2022 edition of Hamptons Happenings…

In this issue we:

Thanks to everyone for your patience over the last few weeks as we have been operating with significantly reduced staff numbers. Like many workplaces around New Zealand, we have been significantly impacted by staff isolating at home.

Our team members who’ve been at work holding the fort have done an exceptional job of servicing customers in the yard, in the shop, and via phone. We sincerely appreciate your patience as we work our way through things.

It looks like we may well be through the worst of it… and will hopefully be back at full capacity for June – just in time for a busy winter!

ITM will be hosting an LBP Training Day in Christchurch this year.  You can get 6 elective points here, on-site learning, and codewords. Everything you need to sort your LBP scheme for the year. Not only that, but there are also Goodie bags, spot prizes, and a Major prize to be won. Click the button below to register.

Event Date: Thursday, August 25th
Venue: Addington Events Centre, Christchurch

Not many people know it but here at Hamptons, we may not have the World’s Fastest Indian but we do have the fastest account manager in New Zealand!

At a recent track day at Ruapuna, Hamptons account manager and all-around good guy Craig Harris, got his bike, a beautiful Kawasaki ZX14 R, up to 260kph. We’re not too surprised as we couldn’t help but notice his bike is red and everyone knows the red ones go the fastest. He tells us it can get up to 300kph but it only got up to 260kph as he had to brake for the corner. Like we always tell him – keep on the straight and narrow Craig!

Come in-store in June and check out the Milwaukee PACKOUT gear. Great for storage and all tools will fit regardless of what brand they are.

Everyone is an expert at Hamptons ITM – and not just when it comes to building products!

Each month one of our staff will offer up a top 5 from one of their specialist subjects outside of the building industry.

This month Courtney is stepping up with her top 5. Not many people know it, but Courtney is an artist in her spare time and this month she is sharing her top five artists.

1. Egon Schiele I like the use of distorted line work in the portraits he did and the dark themes. His portraits can be a bit unsettling and demand the eye look at them.
2. Bryan Lewis Saunders He is a contemporary version of Schiele, and also uses the distorted line work.
3. Vashti Lanya – I like her bright watercolor backgrounds with the black fine line drawings of women over the top.
4. Frida Kahlo – amazing eyebrows!
5. Amedeo Modigliani  – With his simple style and elongated faces and necks he is another artist that creates unusual portraits. He’s more well-known than Schiele, but still retains the essence of cool.

Courtney is always ready for a good chat about all things art, so be sure to tell her your favourite art style the next time you see her!

Best wishes,

David & Wendy, Don, Carolyn and the rest of the team at Hamptons ITM
