The team at Hamptons ITM would like to extend a warm thank you to everyone who attended our toolbox top-up breakfast on Thursday the 27th of October. It was an early start for us here, but by 7am the BBQ was fired up, the tool stands polished and the crowds were rolling in. Bargains were had, and it was great to see so many happy customers. Again, thanks to those that attended, and we hope you got yourselves a good deal and topped up that toolbox.

Fresh face!
Meet our newest staff member, Karlie Read.
Karlie has joined the team as a Key Account Manager at Hamptons ITM. Karlie comes to us with a wealth of experience in the building industry, not only has she spent the last ten years working for Canterbury Insulation, but her brother is a builder, her father is in the timber industry, and one of her teenage step-sons is an apprentice builder. You can imagine what they talk about at family gatherings. When not up to her neck in building talk, Karlie likes to escape to her bach in the Sounds for some fishing and diving action and she tells us she’s joined Hamptons ITM in the hope of meeting Matt Watson from the ITM fishing show one day…
Having two teenage sons who are into rugby also keeps her busy – we can well understand her love of wine after hearing this. We asked Karlie what the most interesting thing is about herself, and she tells us her favourite colour is green, she only has one kidney, and her partner is a beekeeper. Are these facts related somehow? Probably not, but you can ask her next time you see her onsite or instore.
Welcome to the team Karlie, it’s always nice to have another member of the North Canterbury community join us.

We have recently expanded our in-store range of Selleys and some of you may have noticed some sparkling new products on the shelves. We have seven new Selleys products here from the Protrade range: construction high strength, construction fast grip, gap filler fast, gap filler smooth, and roof and gutter in three flavours – Black, grey and clear.
The roof and gutter product is particularly good, not only is it 100% neutral cure but also having it in three colours is a real bonus.
All products are competitively priced – for example, the protrade gap filler is a couple of dollars cheaper than no more gaps, so come on in and check out the range. Rowan will be only too happy to help with any questions you might have.

The last couple of years we have battling our way through shortages of pretty much everything. The good news is, there is light at the end of the tunnel. The last couple of months have seen allocations removed from both Pink Batts and James Hardie products and a host of other products are now becoming easier to get.
We still have some way to go with the big one, Gib, but it is pleasing to know that we are edging closer to getting back to normal.

I had some builders in last week doing renovations on the outside of my house. It was quite a wet day and the area where they were working was exceptionally muddy… One of the young apprentice builders approached the backdoor and asked me if he could please use my toilet.
I looked down at his extremely dirty boots and said, “OK, but let me just lay some newspaper down first”
He looked slightly offended and replied “It is ok, I have been signed off as being toilet trained” he smiled and said… “in fact, my mum gave me that ticket a few years back…”

Come into the ITM Hamptons store in November to discuss our latest deal on our Paslode FrameMaster and Stoney Creek hoodie pack, and we still have our Toolbox Top Up happening until the end of November so pop in and grab what you need.

Everyone is an expert at Hamptons ITM – and not just when it comes to building products!
Each month one of our staff will offer up a top 5 from one of their specialist subjects outside of the building industry.
It is the season of long weekends and the rapidly approaching Christmas break. We had Labour weekend in October, and with Show weekend just a week away we thought we’d ask our resident caravaner, and credit controller, Tracy Blair, for her top five spots to take the caravan in the South Island.

Best wishes,
David & Wendy, Don, Carolyn and the rest of the team at Hamptons ITM
