Meet our sister company – Westlake Frame and Truss
Westlake Frame and Truss is a sister company of Hamptons ITM and its integration with Hamptons ITM provides significant benefits to customers. The company’s brand new factory building, located in the Belfast Development, has recently been completed and commenced operations on the 1st November 2021. The building is located at 17/19 Frank Coxon Rd, Belfast, at the corner of Frank Coxon Road and Seven Mile Drive.
The new manufacturing facility covers an area of 6,277 square meters, with the factory occupying 1,475 square meters, and amenities taking up 367 square meters, the facility is designed for optimal production efficiency and a comfortable working environment.
One of the strengths of Westlake Frames and Trusses is its experienced staff. Michael Woodrow, manager of Westlake, has led the team in the shift from Sonter Road in Wigram to the new location in Belfast. The company has replaced all of its machinery with a new, updated plant, except for retaining two table presses for making trusses. The new plant includes a razor saw and progressive framing production, new timber storage system, and multiple automatic nailers. The efficiency of production and quality of the product produced has significantly improved as a result of the new machinery.
Moreover, the software supporting the Mitek detailing/management system has been upgraded to incorporate the new Mitek Sapphire 3D program, which provides a more comprehensive 3D digital modelling design system for detailing frames and trusses for manufacture. The Sapphire software also provides valuable management information, providing efficiencies with production.
With Westlake Frame and Truss being closely integrated with Hamptons ITM, customers can expect high-quality frames and trusses. The Westlake – Belfast Development represents a significant step forward in the company’s operations, with a state-of-the-art factory and updated machinery and software. Under the leadership of Michael and his team, the company is well-positioned to continue to provide customers with the very best products and services in the industry.
2023 Kids Crusaders Event
On Monday, 20th February, Winstone Wallboards, as a National Sponsor of the Crusaders, hosted a Kids Crusaders event at Rugby Park. Children aged between 5 and 15 years old were invited to a fun-filled afternoon with the Crusaders.
The Kids Crusaders event kicked off at 4:15 pm, and the children had a blast. They enjoyed complimentary food and drinks and participated in various activities with the Crusaders. The event also included prizes that added to the excitement.
The children were thrilled to meet their heroes and had an opportunity to learn basic skills. The Crusaders were patient and encouraging, and the children enjoyed the time spent with them. The event was well organized, and overall the children had an unforgettable experience. The undoubted highlight for many was the motivation speech from the next All Blacks coach, Scott Robertson.
Mighty by name, mighty by nature, the Mighty Hardware Sale arrives at Hamptons ITM on April 21st.

On 18-19 March, SailGP made a splash in Christchurch with the highly-anticipated event being held. The Christchurch leg of SailGP was a fun-filled day out for the whole family, featuring world-class sailing and state-of-the-art technology on display. ITM was proud to be a sponsor of SailGP, supporting this exciting and dynamic event.
In the end, the championship was won by the Canadian team, who showcased their talent and skill on the water. The New Zealand team, while not taking home the championship title, put on an impressive display and was cheered on loudly by the local fans under beautiful Christchurch weather.
Customers who attended the event had a blast, enjoying the day filled with excitement and adventure at the harbour. A highlight was being able to tour the hangers where the boats are kept and seeing the cutting-edge technology up close.
Overall, the SailGP event in Christchurch was a fantastic success, showcasing the best in international sailing and bringing the community together for a fun-filled day out. Hamptons ITM is proud to have supported such a dynamic and exciting event and looks forward to future opportunities to showcase its commitment to these types of events.
Congratulations to everyone’s favourite yardman, Brett, who married the lovely Heidi in early March. Despite the nerves, he managed to successfully navigate the day and stammer the fateful words “I do”.
Congratulations to both Brett and Heidi, and we hope you enjoyed your well-deserved honeymoon.
In April, we have our ITM Mighty Hardware Sale! Come into the store on April 21st and chat with the sales reps who will be here, grab something off the BBQ and snag a great deal!
5. Woolshed Creek Track, Mount Somers. This is a great walk for young ones – 1 to 2 days with a nice hut. A good introduction to tramping.
4. Hooker Valley, Aoraki/Mount Cook. A small day walk, but it gets you to the scenic Hooker lake. About 2-3 hours. (Editors note – my brother proposed to his girlfriend, now wife, here)
3. Abel Tasman Coast Track. A popular summer walk, this is many people’s favourite. Has a great reputation for good reason. 2- 5 days.
2. Routeburn Track from Fiordland/ Queenstown area. Internationally renowned, to the point where you need to book at the beginning of the season, this is one of New Zealand’s Great Walks. 2-4 days.
1. Everest Base Camp Nepal – Jiri to Base Camp Everest then fly out of Lukla. An unforgettable 21 days, and one of my best memories.
