A big thanks to all those that braved the wet weather to come on down to our Mighty Hardware Sale on April 21st.
Despite the inclement weather, we had a good number of familiar faces turn up. Bacon butties were eaten, coffees drunk, and deals struck beneath the threatening skies.
Thanks again to all those that attended, we hope to see you all again next year when you’ll be able to snag yourself another bargain.
Please help us welcome Gavy Kalwan to our team! Gavy comes to us from Kaikoura ITM, where he was an all-rounder providing excellent sales support to customers and at the trade counter. Outside of work, Gavy is also an all-rounder, but this time on the cricket pitch. He’s a skilled player who can bat, bowl, and field with ease, and he’s always eager to be in the action.
Though he hasn’t yet reached the heights of his hero Sachin Tendulkar, Gavy has already made his mark on the Kaikoura Cricket Club, helping them reach the semi-finals in their competition. Currently, on the hunt for a new local club to join, we have no doubt that the Christchurch clubs will soon be vying for Gavy’s talents with some enticing contracts.
While Gavy’s cricket prowess is impressive, his greatest catch of all is his wife, whom he’s been married to for seventeen months now. He didn’t quite bowl the maiden over, but has been quietly putting runs on the board for several years before finally declaring…….…..”I do”
We’re thrilled to have Gavy on our team and look forward to a long partnership with us here at Hamptons ITM.
One for the Bargain Hunters
We currently have available 320 meters of 100×25 T&G cedar (HP83) ready to go straight off the shelf. Priced at a rock bottom price of $17.80, we are keen to move this off our racks before stocktake next month. It is still in its original wrapping and in mint condition and has even had a coat of Wood-X Damper oil.

New H1 Building Code Requirements
The latest changes to the H1 building code requirements arrived on 1st May, bringing increased insulation requirements for new homes and buildings.
These changes will deliver warmer and drier homes, reduce heating costs, and will also reduce energy use in new buildings.
Several of our suppliers have online resources available to help navigate these changes and increases in R values.
Pink batts have a very good H1 hub, available HERE that provides an easy-to-understand overview, as well as technical data for those that want to dig deep.
Likewise, Velux also provides a useful guide to their products under the new rules which you can access HERE.
There is plenty of information out there if you’re not sure how these changes affect your build. You can always get in touch with your account manager and they will point you in the right direction should you need more information.

At Hamptons ITM, our team members aren’t simply proficient in building supplies and constructing products; they’re also enthusiastic about a diverse array of hobbies and interests. In an effort to celebrate our staff’s unique talents, we will be featuring a personal area of expertise each month.
As soon as we found out that new staff member Gavy was a huge cricket fan there was never any doubt that this month’s Top 5 would revolve around cricket. And so, after spending many drink breaks debating the merits of the world’s greatest cricketers, here is Gavy’s definitive Top 5 Cricketers.
1. Sachin Tendulkar – Sachin is a childhood hero. A class player through and through, you don’t play for India for twenty-four years unless you’re the very best.
2. Ross Taylor – I have chosen Ross Taylor because I have long admired his sweep shot. He had a few ups and downs in his career, but he always toughed it out.
3. Ricky Ponting – Another player with a shot that I always enjoy -in this case his pull shot. He is perhaps the best player of this shot in history, just have a look on youtube if you don’t believe me.
4. Virat Koli – Koli has a reputation for being arrogant, but he has earnt that over the years with his all-around ability with the bat and as a captain. The ICC Male Cricketer of the decade 2011-2020 sums up all you need to know about the man.
5. Kane Williamson – In some ways the opposite of Koli, Williamson is an all-round nice guy and a class act. Respected both on the field and off it, he is someone that all kids can look up to.
