Welcome to the August edition of Hamptons Happenings.
In this issue we:
In each issue of Hamptons Happenings, we have shared some information on various members of the team at Hamptons ITM.
This month we wanted to let you know about some special recognition that one of our team received to acknowledge their continued service and commitment to both Hamptons and ITM.
At the recent National ITM Annual Shareholders Meeting and Awards Dinner, Don Blair, Hamptons Sales Manager, was the recipient of the ITM Achiever of the Year Award. This is quite an achievement given there are 95 ITM stores throughout New Zealand, and nationally well over 1,000 ITM staff.
Back in March 1994, Don joined Hamptons as a junior salesperson and over the past 25 years Don has had the opportunity to learn a great deal about both the building industry and the building supply game.
Within the Canterbury region, Don is the chair of the group of 13 independently owned Christchurch and Canterbury stores. The results Don achieves in this role are a testament to his well-developed diplomacy, negotiation and leadership skills.
As with any business, change is a constant, however, as the years pass by, so does the speed and acceleration of change. Over the past 25 years, Hampton’s has faced numerous challenges, including the Christchurch earthquake which physically decimated Hamptons premises.
As the saying goes, it doesn’t matter how many times you get knocked down… it is how many times you get up that counts! As a leader, Don has always been an absolutely key member of the team that always made sure Hamptons ITM got up each time we were knocked back.
On behalf of everyone here at Hamptons – congratulations Don! It is just fantastic to see your contribution, efforts and energy acknowledged at a national level. Well done!
Don, we’re looking forward to seeing the photos of you in your penguin suit and it was just great to hear that you had your hair permed and blow waved specially for the occasion.
|In our last issue of Hamptons Happenings, we showcased Building with Hemp – An Incredible Natural Insulation & Sustainable Material.|
This month, we show you some of the incredible technology behind the next America’s Cup.
Last year ITM was announced as the first exclusive sponsor of Emirates Team New Zealand.
When ITM’s sponsorship was announced, Grant Dalton CEO of Emirates Team New Zealand said “ITM started as a business from just a small group who believed in the potential of a collective effort, this really reflects our own values and we’re thrilled to have their support as we embark on our next campaign. We are passionate about what we do for New Zealand and with the support of ITM stores up and down the country, we’re looking forward to sharing our journey with more kiwis through this partnership.”

FREE Building Standards
If you’re not yet aware, over 120 building standards used for Building Code compliance have been funded for free download thanks to a successful collaboration between MBIE (Ministry of Business Employment and Innovation) and Standards New Zealand. This is great news for LBPs, as it will reduce the cost of accessing standards and help significantly with building code compliance.
Popular standards that are now fully funded include:
After many months of disruption due to the road works on Ferry Road… the orange cones and site fencing have finally been removed! You now don’t have to use the circle method to access our premises and you can finally drive in both directions down Ferry Road! Wahooo!
